Last Entry Stamp

Featured Replies

Retirement - Extension of stay question.

Assuming I got my second extension valid till 10th May 2013 (which I am going to apply soon).

But my latest entry stamps says I must leave Thailand by 10th May 2012.

And I will be leaving Thailand (with a multiple Re-entry permit) on 20th August 2012

with the new extension valid till 10th May 2013.

In other words, I have two stamps in my passport - one says I must leave before 10th May 2012

and the latest Re-entry permit says I can stay untill 10th May 2013.

Will these two stamps cause me problems, like overstaying. Or will the new extension

of stay over rides the last entry stamp which says I must leave by the 10th May 2012

which is still in my passport. This scenario makes me uneasy.

Please kindly advise.

Thanking you all in advance

Since you didn't apply for an extension of stay yet, it seems they made a mistake when giving you the 2013 stamp. Your curent permisison to stay is till 10th of may 2012. When you apply and get a new extension of stay it will be valid till 10th of May 2013. At that time get a new re-entry permit, so you can leave and come back.

I am not sure he has the "new" re-entry permit and believe he just does not understand his new permitted to say (extension) must be obtained first and will over-ride to previous permitted to stay date and then he obtains the new re-entry permit for 2013.
