Repair Cane / Rattan Furniture Any Recommendations

Featured Replies

Does anybody have experience with a competent - cost effective place to repair quality Cane / Rattan furniture, close as possible to C Mai please ?

Inside the moat, just West of North East corner (Riders Corner), about 40 meters from the corner in the first row of shop houses. Small shop good service, reasonable prices, used them for years.

Yes I use them a lot also; they have a bigger shop down Chang Moi for yes the bigger furniture but I think they are more wholesalers as opposed to specialist repairers.

but the roadside rattan/bamboo shops from the big C up towards Hang down, many are actually the craftsmen who make these things. So suggest trying up there also.

They have done repairs for me many times and done them well and promptly.

Thanks for the info, I went to the recommended shop up from Bikers Corner today, I attach a pic of the chairs for comparison, I asked to have the whole lot replaced - even though 80% is OK, the quote was 1,800 Baht per chair ? how does this price compare to your experiences - good or not ?post-100904-0-21764300-1335624517_thumb.post-100904-0-49204600-1335624530_thumb.

Is painting the metal frames included in the price?

No painting, the price is to replace the rattan/ cane weave only

From the photos, the chairs look like they should be painted first, Rustoleum primer and two topcoats.

It has been some years since I had work done there and it was not the same work as what you need so I can not say anything authoritative about the price you were quoted but it does not seem too high. You could probably find cheaper but perhaps not the quality you want.
