Doing Business With The Thai Government

Featured Replies

Do any of you people own or manage companies that provide services to the Thai Government?

If you do, you'll know that things are far from easy.

Put it this way. You have your cricket team; and the Thai Government have theirs.

And the Thai Government have just won the toss and put you guys in to bat.

Soon -- instantly, in fact -- you'll notice that the umpire who should be at square leg is standing at mid off.

It's impossible to be stumped since the wicket keeper is standing down at third man.

If you hit a six, you score three.

Oh -- and did I mention that the wicket is 33 yards long instead of 22.

It's odd. Very odd. But it seems to work out well in the end, and there's some serious green to be made.

Never mind..

I did once with one of the government run companies, a nice little deal worth 1.56m baht which in the end the basically screwed me out of. Smiling, sitting there saying basically "yeah, well I know we have a contract signed and stamped, but I'm afraid we still do not think we will pay this". Lawyer looked at me when I queried if there was anything I could do as if I had just asked him if I could emigrate to Mars; sort of "well you could try,,,, but..."

Unless you are related to them, or have paid them lots of dirty money, then don't bother.

Sorry to hear that. My point is that it CAN be done.

There's green there in the system, and you can get it. And it's serious green, too.

It's as hard as hell, but if you can adjust and play the game .................... the cash is right there for you.

Lots of words, no content.

The best bit is having to buy the ball off the other team.

I dont see how our esteemed TV members would have difficulty doing business deals with the goverment, after all they are all married to Thai/chinese Hi-so's whose families have connections at high levels in the goverment, so should be a piece of cake, just phone in the in-laws if you have a problem

Nothing unusual there then
