Hi guys,

Just about to submit my wife's visa application, and was wondering if the embassy need more information from me will they reject the visa? Or ask for the information? Don't want to lose £800 for nothing!! Thanks:-)

To be honest, you need to give fuller details regarding the background of your application, where was your marriage ceremony carried out, has your wife been out of Thailand before on a visitors visa, has she passed life in UK test etc, etc............

There is no 'one size fits all;' each application is judged on it's own merits.

You, or rather your wife, needs to show that on the balance of probabilities she meets the criteria for the visa applied for. For settlement that is, basically, that she is in an enduring relationship with you and that she will be adequately maintained and accommodated in the UK without recourse to public funds.

See UK Settlement Visa Basics for more details.

The onus is on the applicant to ensure that all relevant information is submitted with the application; if something is missing the Entry Clearance Officer is not obliged to ask for it, and probably wont; instead they will refuse.

You don't want to swamp the ECO with irrelevant bits of paper, but if in doubt include it; better to give them something they don't need than leave out something vital.
