MP phone could have sourced porn pic, says Pheu Thai

BANGKOK:-- The Pheu Thai Party Sunday held a demonstration on how to share pictures on an LG LED TV to try to back up its allegation that a Democrat Party MP had displayed a pornographic image on a TV monitor in the parliamentary assembly hall.

Pheu Thai deputy spokesperson Sunisa Lertphakwat used an LG TV of the same model that is used in the parliamentary assembly hall as part of the demonstration.

She shared an image from an iPhone onto the LG LED TV in front of reporters at the Pheu Thai head office to prove that an iPhone could share images in this way, using a Wi-Fi connection.

On April 18, during a televised debate on constitutional amendment, large display screens inside the parliamentary chamber briefly showed a picture of a partly unclothed woman in a lewd pose.

Close the same time, Democrat MP Nutt Bantadtan was seen viewing a pornographic photo on his iPhone smart phone. Nutt later apologised, saying he was simply checking what pictures were sent to his phone.

An earlier investigation by a committee of the House Secretariat found that an iPhone and iPad could not share photos on the LG TV because the TV would require the iPhone and iPad users to key in a password.

Seems it took them a week to find a way to do it....

And nothing is said about needing passwords or anything of the technique involved.

Ah, but was it the same photo?

And was HE sent a photo at the same time thinking it innocent,

and then opens it to find someone is right behind him to take a picture.

The whole business smells rancid to the core.

Her proof that Democrats had done it, after their own investigation was closed down due to inability to prove anything and the manufactures discarding their theory, is that one can do an action if explicitly prepared both devices for it...

Which is hardly likely the case.

Every reasonable phone that knows about DLNA can do this. The problem is just the wireless connection of the TV. Looks like they corrected that by now, so no more entertainment for the parliament is in the pipeline.

If they want to blame someone for the incident they should go for the dummy who is responsible for the network's security at the parliament building.

When will the gov't get on with the biz of governing?

Whoops, sorry. Forget I said that. Thus far, everything PT party has proposed has been half-assed or just plain harmful for the Thai people.

Better the sage politicians spend their time ruminating about a display screen or doing what they do most of the time: eating, drinking whiskey, visiting their mia noi and playing golf, (not all concurrently, one assumes).

an mp caught looking at naughty pics on his phone on the same day that a naughty pic just happened to be displayed on the screen... yeah, has to be a set up.

what evil genius thought of this plan i wonder?

maybe thaksin is laughing maniacally while he strokes a cat.

"that's the democrats finished with...muahahahaha"

The key phrase being "caught" looking at porn. How many other MP's were looking at porn and were not caught? I think I would rather have an MP having a quick scan of a bit of porn during a debate, than an MP debating on crucial matters while he is pissed.

i really don't give two sh%*s if he was looking at porn or not tbh, i'm just replying to someone suggesting it was a set up... you know, because he is a democrat after all.

I have already pointed out to you in an earlier related thread that when a photo message is opened in an iphone it is shown in 'thumb' form in a message conversation window. In order to view the sent photo in full screen, as Nutt was caught doing, one has to click on the thumb. Yet you persist in lying to the forum in Nutt's defence that he viewed the full screen photo in innocence.

Democrat's phone could have shared porn pic: Pheu Thai
The Nation

BANGKOK: -- The Pheu Thai Party yesterday held a demonstration on how to share pictures on an LG LED TV to try to back its claim that a Democrat Party MP was responsible for a pornographic image on a TV monitor in the parliamentary assembly hall.

Pheu Thai deputy spokesperson Sunisa Lertphakwat used an LG TV of the same model that is used in the parliamentary assembly hall as part of the demonstration.

She shared an image from an iPhone onto the LG LED TV in front of reporters at Pheu Thai head office to prove an iPhone could share images in this way, using a Wi-Fi link.

On April 18, during a televised debate on constitutional amendment, large display screens inside the parliament briefly showed a picture of a woman in a lewd

pose.

Around the same time, Democrat MP Nutt Bantadtan was seen viewing a pornographic photo on his iPhone (smart phone).

Nutt later apologised, saying he was simply checking pictures sent to his phone. An earlier investigation by a committee of the House Secretariat found that an iPhone and iPad could not share photos on the LG TV because the TV would require the iPhone and iPad users to key in a password.

The investigation was carried out by technicians from CAT Telecom, who used Android OS smart phones with the Samsung brand.

But Sunisa alleged the test by an investigation team was inaccurate because LG TVs could receive photos from an iPhone after it had installed an application called iMedia Share 4.1.

She alleged that LG Electronics' head office in Korea had instructed its Thai office not to give information to the investigative team on how to share photos from an iPhone to TVs.

Sunisa said the use of iMedia Share to display photos from an iPhone to an LG TV did not require any password either.

During the display, Sunisa used a picture of Democrat leader Abhisit Vejjajiva donning a hat made of condoms, which was taken when he was prime minister.

Earlier, the investigative committee closed its investigation, saying LG Electronics had ruled it had no way to check which mobile phone sent the picture to the TV.

In another development, a well-known Buddhist monk, Wachira Methi, warned MPs against behaving improperly.

The monk said politicians were required to have a higher standard of ethics than the community as people could imitate their behaviour.

I doubt that the poster is lying and in any event, depending on lighting, viewing angle etc............it is not always easy to see exactly what is the 'thumb'. And they have already said the lady was 'partly dressed'.

You need to calm down mate.

Typical Thai government behavior of focusing on nonsense. This looks like a pretty lame and transparent setup to me, which is typical of their depth of thinking. Even if it isn't, the childish behavior of the accused and accusers tell you all you need to know about the Lilliputions in charge. What a shame such a beautiful country is run by a band of low class village idiots!

He should add; ......unless such politicians are so superior to regular people, that they can avoid paying billions in taxes, or get drunk in parliament.

Considering that 3 people sit right behind him at allk times, it would be foolish to knowingly open an porn image with someone looking over their shoulder.

But not foolish, if that is NOT what they were expecting to see.

It seems the credulous believe Thumbnails can't be modified to other images.

Solly Chollie. Can be done by dozens at Pantip.

It had to be an Android phone, therefore it was the Dems.

PTP Investigators Incorporated - Ho wto go from A to Z in an investigation whilst bypassing the rest of the alphabet. Positively Chalermesque.

Guess he's been too busy upsetting the real police to have had a hand in this one - maybe it's payback time

well maybe he's a fool then.

i don't think you would be raising these same hypotheticals if it was a ptp mp, that's one reason why i take an issue what you are saying.

another reason is the likelihood that if some shady forces were trying to make the dems look bad, surely they would come up with something that would have a bit more impact than this!

this is on a dr evil "one millllllion dollars" level....
