No More Coca Cola Products In 711

Featured Replies

Have Coca Cola products been removed from 711 stores?

Each 711 I go into I notice that the shelves are empty

Maybe 7/11 selected Pepsi instead.

Around 20 years ago I heard they had a big fight with Carrefour and Carrefour kicked them out of their stores. It was really a fight about who was the more powerful on the retail market.

According to my teachers, Carrefour won.

But I don't really trust teachers, so don't attack me on that.

No big bottles or cans of Coke OR Pepsi in my local 7-11 in Chiang Mai tonight. Small bottles only.

There must be a problem somewhere in production or distribution. I was in a Tesco store this evening and all large Coke and Pepsi bottled varieties were out of stock. In their shelf space were boxes of cordial which indicates there isn't any new stock expected overnight. The bulk section had 250ml Coke only. A Jusco store I went to also had very little stock so If you are a regular Coke or Pepsi drinker now might be the time to buy an extra carton or two if you see any. When the flood was at its peak 7-11 ran out of stock very quickly while Family Mart always seemed to have some Coke or Sprite in cans or small bottles left so worth a look.

i bought a coke in the 7-11 last night and there plenty of them in the fridge

500ml bottles ,17 thb

yup me too.........bought a nice cool bottle of coke earlier on.....

The Tesco Express near mine has been out of stock of large bottles of soft drink for the best part of a week. Half their chiller cabinet of small bottles and cans is empty too.

Stock control never was a high priority on the distribution chain in Thailand

This has been a particularly problematic issue since the flood. Pre-flood, all those things were regularly stocked. Now, it might take two weeks for a single palette of diet coke to come into the local Tesco's. I'm amazed consider that the sales potential is just as big as ever that the Coke co. hasn't been stomping on people to get whatever new plant needed to be opened or re-opened, but it just isn't happening.

you cant stomp in thailand ,it just doesnt work that way .........:)

coca cola will probably be made to jump through business legal hoops as ridiculous as the visa regulations

and more than likely have to pay a few backhanders to get the wheels to turn at all ,im sure if there was a shortcut

to opening a new plant outsie bangkok ,their lawyers would have found it

clearly another blatant case of anti-farang sentiment, this one....

Most of the 7/11's Ive been in lately only seem to stock the AJE range of soft drinks.

Maybe 7/11 selected Pepsi instead.

And now there is no Carefour in Thailand and there is currently around 4000 7/11's !!

It's been ongoing since the shortages during the flood. On the high demand list

Nescafe Latte coffee cans (now only found at selected Family Marts)

Pepsi 1.25lt

Thai-Danish UHT Milk packs (Strawberry)

Maybe 7/11 selected Pepsi instead.

So true. It might take generations to settle a business/political dispute. Sometimes you realise that Thai people have near legendary patience, passed from generation to generation. Look at the battle at the top and think about how far back it stretches! Interesting.

Funny people should mention this war between Pepsi and coke but even before the flood, most of the food shops around ratchada and lat phrao have Pepsi table clothes , Pepsi umbrellas over the tables and if you order a coke they either tell you they don't have it or open a Pepsi and set it down in front of you as if you wont notice

Its like many of the bkk restaurants are sponsored by Pepsi and you have no hope of getting a coke in them ... :-)

That's why i love internet..it gives us free valuable information.

6,300 7/11 stores in Thailand right now. If they all sell an average of 100 + CocaCola products a day which is not unrealistic including all their brands, then you are looking at 1m products needing delivering each day to the network of 7/11 alone. Then add into the mix the other places and god only knows how many they need to get out. I would actually be amazed in Thailand if they did actually manage to keep the stores filled. As 7/11 is mostly a franchise, individual store owners will most likely keep very low stock levels and with a damaged supply chain they are not correcting their order patterns to cover the days when the deliveries are not made.

Interesting to see this though; 7/11 has an online store selling lots of different stuff including Canon digital cameras.

Lets hope thats not true, i prefer coke any day of the week

beyond coke products, the selection at my local villa is dire, they seem out of everything from juices to cheese

My Calculator must be borked but for the life of me I cannot get 6300 x 100 to equal 1 million.

What am I doing wrong or is the "+" part of 100+ = 58.7 ?

Makro ran out Pepsi and Coke too now people are clearing away what is left too

If it helps you sleep tonight, either...

1) "+" is 158.73015873015873015873015873016 or;

2) your calculator was bought at 7/11 more than 4 hours ago and is indeed knackered.

Available eveywhere according to the trouble and Strife....

Ahh I see, so your post of 6300 stores multiplied by 100+ products was merely a wank.

Do you have facts that (6300 stores multiplied by 158.73015873015873015873015873016 =) 1 million products are delivered daily by Coca Cola to 7/11 stores within Thailand or like most on TV you was just talking <deleted> ?
