I doubt it - but it is worth asking. A friend of mine in the states said he would be glad to help me qualify for this (substantial) discount program if it is in effect here.

This new Focus is one heck of a car. Even parks itself. Great technology. I think it won't be available here until 4th Qtr or so from what I've read. Check out the Ford.co.th website.

Interesting thought Canopus. It is possible a rebate could be issued direct from Ford corporate in Michigan. Still not likely but it would be worth a call to World Headquarters to inquire. (We ended up taking delivery of a new Corolla Altis, so I'll personally not be following up this further.)

If you are talking about a discount for Ford/Mazda staff and their friends, yes, it is available to all those working at the Ford/Mazda factory here and up to 5 friends/family. Discount of 100,000 baht and very low deposit (10,000 baht down) and low monthly payments (7,000 baht) and low interest.

Its not transferable internationally - but asking could be amusing!

A nephew working at the factory offered us the family discount when we were looking for a car a few years ago. Same deal as mentioned above. We didn't take the offer up so don't know the full ins and outs of the purchase proceedure.
