'Politicians Implicated' In Bt30M Flood Money Embezzlement

It was only a matter of time before this corruption comes out.

Props to "Uncle Chewy" for getting some of this stuff out to the public.

No doubt he does have some long standing axes to grind with certain factions,

but fair play, he is outing a lot of dirt and this is rarely done here.

Good old Chuwit. I'm sure the old devil's got some farang blood in him somewhere!

Nothing like a former poacher turning game keeper. Anyone remember the film "History of the World part 1"? Mel Brooks ,,,,

"Politics, politics, politics, politics !

Yes, the roman senate.

The roman senate is the best legislature that money can buy.

Corruption starts in the streets with the little peddlers.

They bribe an assemblyman, the assemblyman bribes a councilman, the councilman bribes a senator, and the senator-- it goes all the way up to the emperor."

......more wine.....

i got a tricky riddle for all...

what's the difference between the thai politicians embezzling flood relief funds and the american red cross "helping" during the u.s. katrina hurriance disaster?

answer: the red cross is american.

Are you insuating that the Red Cross embezzled money during the Hurricane Katrina disaster? That sir is a moronic statement, and you are the person saying it, so what does that make you?

if you mean to spell insinuating by typing 'insuating'...ok

if you are asking if i'm insinuating that the red cross embezzled ONLY during the katrina relief, NO.

i mean to insinuate that they are continuously embezzling during any disaster, crisis, or opportunity when they services are forced. but i guess i was a moron for working for them at an directorial level for 10 years and turning my back to the corruption and even sometimes condoning it albeit passively.

thanks for implying that i'm a moron. and thanks for kicking me in the balls when i'm already down. sounds like the m.o. of the red cross. wait, did we used to work together?? oh, i guess you were that one guy at HQ that refused to acknowledge what was truly going on.

i ask you, in return sir, what does that make you?

Shocking accusations! Can't possibly be true!

I wonder how much of the of the donations for the 2004 tsunami got snarfed as well.

Love Chuwit. It'll be interesting to see if these implicated politicians ever get arrested?

I've heard it too many times before. The kind of "I know that someone did something wrong" accusation is very rarely backed up by actually naming the people. The story goes away, everybody forgets and the status quo continues. If you know who did it, present your evidence, run a proper enquiry jail them or acquit them. If you're not prepared to do that, don't bother with these lame schoolyard rumours. I'm not too familiar with the caste system in Thailand but it seems people don't have the balls to actually follow it up especially it involves someone of a higher rank. Threats of death or lawsuits seem to have that effect!

Hard to prosecute and jail someone with parliamentary immunity, which is why they think they can get away with it. In any true democracy, an accused MP would step down until after the case was heard. Instead PTP rewards its mercenaries with MP status and immunity, and those who are eventually convicted are allowed bail so as to flee the country.

Thailand is the land of smiles, miracles (of course) and politician's honest mistakes.

... only foreigners buying into the massively cynical deception of Thailand as the 'Land of Smiles' might be surprised.

... Thailand = incompetence + institutional corruption ... a mathematical certainty.

Great work Chuwit and others, really refreshing to see news like this. Now wait for the names and the following lynch mob that will go after those politicians tongue.png

Doubtful any names will be named. Even if named, no 'lynch mob' will mobilize. Thais are innured to loud noises and corrupt politicians. .....and Thais HATE to implicate important and rich people - and take a chance those turds may get fined or (Buddha Forgive!) thrown in the slammer.

Red Cross may or may not be corrupt, but they sure seem adept at overspending lots of money for diminished returns. At least one of their bosses gets paid 1/2 a million buckaroos per year.

If the corruption is not stopped by a few Honest ones then what will eventually happen to Land of Smiles?

What do you mean "IF"? It has happened, it is happening, and will continue to happen robustly.

What is happening to Thailand is in your face (if you're in the country) - right now. Kids are learning that corruption pays, ....that it's stupid to pay taxes, .....that getting as rich as possible is the best and most important things a person can aspire to. Thai kids are also learning that there is no amount of corruption that can land you in trouble - particularly if you're from a VIP family.

I doubt your claims towards the red cross (which is completely unrelated to this post)- and you show us no links to your claims or anything. I also doubt your own horn honking claims as to your credentials.

And some parties keep alleged (with eyewitnesses being kept under watch for their safety) premeditated killers within their protective grasp - in a true democracy that person would not be allowed anywhere near parliament.

The name ''Chalerm'' ring any bells, Jutuporn ring any bells? Just a couple of suspect characters.who would be better housed in a prison cell.

There is of course a bail jumper whose sister is involved according to popular rumours in Prime Ministrial antics who claimed daily living costs are not rising either..

If you are referring to the one Democrat MP accused of murder, the accusation came after the election. Which is quite a different proposition to nominating on your party list multiple persons accused of equally serious crimes to aid and abet them avoid those charges. Jatuporn's proposed promotion seems to be a continuation of that behaviour as it seems he will be evicted shortly.

It merely confirms my opinion that PTP is a criminal conspiracy.

no, no, thank you and countless others like you for entrusting us with the charitable funds.

i've made my peace with it and accept it for what ever it is.

maybe you can give it a swing and report back when you have eliminated corruption from every, check that, a single organization in the world.

drunk on righteousness enough yet?
