Fancy going away this weekend with the wife, but not sure where to go. Ideally want something to do when we get there (we've travelled Isaan extensively, so looking for off the beaten path places), and don't really want to drive more than 5 hours to get there (from Ubon). We are into nature, food and photography.

Any suggestions?

Might try cossing the bridge and giving a weekend's worth of Laos a go....

Weeeeeeeeeeeeell, my place is a 5 minute drive for you, you can take my photo, and the cows wandering the roads near me which will really take you back to nature.

My mrs does a mean Pok Pok that you won't eat but all this could be yours for a box of Chang Draught.

PS. Have a fishing rod free of charge as we are on the Ubon lake.

Khao Yai National Park - lots of nature and some good restaurants, the Smoke House is excellent.
