May 12, 201214 yr We have an old imported Volvo XC90 in need of tires. B quick is one option, but I wonder if anyone else has a good option for a reasonably priced SUV tires around town. Prefer Solom area but I'm willing to go out a little of that means a big change in price. Thanks.
May 12, 201214 yr Are you stupid? if you want real VOLVO parts go to a dealer, if you want crap, go anywhere!
May 12, 201214 yr I seriously doubt Volvo makes it's own tires. A Volvo chat site suggested Hankook tires as an option. Looking at pricing in the US as a comparison, Hankook, Kumho, Toyo or Yokahama tires are generally about half price of Michelin's. Most have similar wear rating, some are nearly double. I would think too hard a tire would be noisy and lack wet grip. My concern for tires in Thailand would center around heat and wet traction. If I was doing some "off road" then mud traction might be a consideration. If it's AWD, be sure to rotate regularly.
May 13, 201214 yr Are you stupid? if you want real VOLVO parts go to a dealer, if you want crap, go anywhere! Seriously, are you kidding? That's never been cost effective advice for tires, since Volvo doesn't make tires. Nor have they locked up the world's supply of any particular brand of tires for exclusive sale in their dealerships. Pick the brand you want and buy them where you get the best deal and service. And now that Volvo is owned by Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, I'm not even sure that's valid advice any more for any replacement parts. I actually have quite a bit of respect for Geely, but they're in for a long and tough "localization" effort. Until they go through those teething pains, there's no telling what quality replacement parts they'll be installing.
