Hi,

I've been living/working in Thailand for 4 years on work permit and Non-Imm B visa. My girlfriend (French) joined me two years ago and has been on tourist visas or 30 days stamps most of the time, apart from the times she worked on non-imm B.

Is there a way to have this unmarried farang-farang relationship accepted in Thailand to apply for her as a partner for a Non-imm B as well? I recall there was something about getting my embassy to issue a letter that we were indeed a couple, but I don't know the details anymore and can't find this constellation in this forum.

Anyone able to help?

Thanks

Immigration will only accept a legal marriage between a man and woman.

It might be that in some countries a Thai consulate will accept a civil partnership as grounds for issueing a non-O visa, in Asia that will be very doubtful. Maybe Australia or Europe, but no guarantees.

THanks, Mario. Not sure why I faintly recall that my embassy once said they could issue a helpful letter if we prove to them that we're living together in Thailand. But maybe this was for some other reason - or this letter would have been useless anyway with the Thai officials.

Cheers

Mario, is 100% correct unless you are legally married, you will not get a dependent visa issued, even if you have a letter from your embassy, further you do know your GF cannot work on a Non-imm B unless you have a WP, a Non-imm B doesnt allow somebody to work
