wayned
I'm American and have to get a new passport every 10 years. The passport numbers change on issuance if the new passport. Since the Yellow Book is issued using one passport, what happens to the validity of the book when a new passport is issued that has a different number? Thanyaburi Mac
Yep, and when I last renewed my Thai 5-year driving permit, the gal at the window used the number off the yellow tambien ban, which doesn't change, rather than my passport number, which will change in 2016. Javabear
What is the yellow tabien baan book for? I know this is slightly off topic but I'm just curious.
lopburi3
It is a version of home register for foreigners and can be used as your address proof when that is required.

Mario2008
Be on a non-immigrant visa and apply for it, with approval of the house owner that is. Since 2008 amphurs are required to enter you on the yellow household registration book, but practises and requirements differ from amhur to amphur. Best is to simply inquire at your own amphur.
