Police set up three checkpoints near Bali Hai

PATTAYA:--Police are tightening security around Bali Hai Pier with a trio of traffic checkpoints aimed at cutting the number of crimes in the area.

A popular gathering place for teens and site of numerous gang-related incidents, Bali Hai will now have police stationed under the overpass near the pier and two between Banglamung and the Pattaya Courthouse. The checkpoints, operated by 10 officers, will run from 10:30 a.m. to 12 midnight until further notice.

Thanks for the warning. so they now know that they can hang loose from 12:05am - 10:00am without getting hassled by the BiB

Yes, that's also true but regular checks at regular times and places still catch people surprisingly often.

I am also not sure why these events need advance notice but that's what happens a lot.

What is the fun in keeping things quiet ? I don't think they wanna pass on any chance to get attention in the Media (especially with the elections ahead)
