News_Editor Posted May 25, 2012 Share Posted May 25, 2012 China’s Foreign Ministry said on Thursday that it will urge Chinese companies to cooperate with Burma to help upgrade the country’ electricity grid amid protests against power cuts. Some of the demonstrators have criticized the government for selling energy resources to China while leaving local consumers to cope with routine blackouts. “The Chinese government has always demanded that its companies conduct economic and trade cooperation with Myanmar in line with the principle of mutual benefit, so as to benefit the people of both countries,†said Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hong Lei.
