30,000 people and maybe a third of them children?

That MIGHT fill the cracks in the runways...

"Opposition spokesmen CHITSAK WOTTAPONG and POOTMAK PISSALL said that they thought this whole exercise was another one of the governments"Keep 'em amused, keep 'em distracted" ploys. Several hundred security personnel will be on site to prevent children from falling into unfinished excavations around the site." The contract has been quietly awarded to SECUREACORPS.

I cannot help but think that the government are hijacking " childrens day " and using it to publicise

Suvarnabhumi Airport and using this special day as a propaganda tool.

How many poor kids are going to be able to get anything out of this ?

What about using the money allocated for this particular exercise to distribute food and clothing to the genuine needy children via proven children charities organising parties for them.

Now that would really make it a childrens day, with the better off getting a happy feeling and a good excersise on what the day really is all about, Maybe ???

I stopped taking my daughter long ago because it was only the privileged kids that seemed to get benefit

instead of the less well off.

This was at Mikes shopping mall in Pattaya and there where lots of poor kids stood opposite on beach road getting nothing.

No slur on Mikes intended as he does a great job in the area for all under priviledged people.

That's Suwannapoom. The v is pronounced as a w, the ar is an English(British) ar, which is pronounced as an American ah, the b is really more like a p and the final i is silent.

Whoever did this transliteration screwed up big.

The spelling is correct, as it was first reported when the King suggested the name.

It is bad enough the Thai's changing it around, without you helping. :o
