Could anybody answer questions regarding my non imm b visa?

The details are as follows:

TYPE OF VISA: non immigrant.

CATEGORY: B.

NO OF ENTRY: S.

FEE: 200 RM.

ISSUED AT: PENANG.

DATE OF ISSUE: 14 Nov 2005.

ENTER BEFORE: 13 Feb 2006.

It also has 'Extension of stay not permitted' with a line through it as if to imply the opposite.

When i reentered Thailand on the 15 Nov 2005 the officer stamped it with the date and the word 'USED'.

There is also a stamp above the visa stating 'Remark: The applicant is advised to apply for a work permit which should be presented to the authorities next time.

Im unsure as to how long this visa runs as it does not appear to have an expiry date.

Also are they saying I must get a work permit? Ive been told it is not necessary as i do not intend to work.

What does the S mean? Is it SINGLE? and if so does it mean i only have to enter once in a 12 month period? Im confused as i was told to renew every 3 months.

Hope someone can help.

Many thanks......

You have used the only entry that visa is valid for and must leave after your 90 day stay. The S indeed does mean single entry but it means that you have only one 90 day entry permitted and the expiration of the visa was February 13 but it has been used now. The officer should have stamped a permitted to stay until sometime in February 2006 in your passport. That is it - all you get.

If you have employment you obtain a work permit and either an extension of stay inside Thailand or return outside Thailand and apply for a multi entry B visa.

What exactly is your reason for the B visa if you are not planning to work here?

OK yes there is a stamp stating 'addmitted untill' 12 Feb 2006.

I was advised to go for this type of visa by the agent who dealt with it in Penang as i have a Thai limited co for the purpose of buying land.

I do not intend working at the present moment but may well do in the future if the right opportunity arrises.

I will also be 50 on April 24 so could I possibly get a retirement visa? What are my options?

Many thanks.......
