Work will move me to West Africa for 2 years...I have confirmed with my future co workers there are a grand total of 0 Thai people there (Libreville, Gabon). I've worked too hard over the last 2 years to lose what I've learned. I'm currently at the point where I can have basic conversations with people and read a few street signs. As I will be immersing myself in French (I can already speak it fairly well), I'm going to be juggling 2 foreign languages.

Any websites or online lessons that'll at least keep my language skills from deteriorating too much for 2 years? My long haired dictionary is only good for English so she's no help.....

Start listening to daily downloads of Voice of America news in Thai. You may struggle at first, but with a good dictionary showing how to read irregulary spellings, you will hopefully keep your 'ear in'.

Streams of Thai TV and Radio are accessible online (if you have a decent connection). Failing that, take a few DVDs of your favourite films/TV Shows, CD's of Thai music, a few of your favourite Thai novels or get married sharpish and take the wife...

YESASIA sells Thai movies with English subtitles. You can order and watch Thai movie DVDs, but make sure you buy the versions that work with your DVD player region.
