Thai Police Combine Plans For Yellow-Shirt Rally

The videos above are absolutely shocking. What on earth were they doing firing those munitions in to a crowd? If they want to deploy tear gas there are many suitable options for crowd control that do not involve blowing peoples legs off. They are the types of round the army would use to fire at an enemy position to smoke people out and have a chance at incapacitating/killing a few with a lucky shot. I bet the injured on the videos did not pick up a 7 million baht handout.

The Police were paralysed during the previous round of PAD v Parliament because the Army made it clear that they were behind PAD. The Police knew that if they were effective against PAD they would pay for it. The question remains, is this still the case?

The police sure did have their moments of being un-"paralysed"....

Let's hope this still isn't the case.

Thailand in Crisis

The plan can be quite simple. Take a page from Suthep's playbook. Ask the red shirts to guard the roads from the constitutional court to parliament. Establish a life firing zone around the parliament and around other buildings that are crucial for the country. Problem solved.

Random barrages of M-79 grenades are quite effective at instilling fear (and loathing). Come on reds, forget about your principles and desire for justice, something more important has come up - getting Thaksin back (his money).

"Cry "Havoc!" and let slip the dogs of war,

That this foul deed shall smell above the earth.

With carrion men, groaning for burial." Julius Caesar Act 3, scene 1,

Note that the fuller quote is there to remind you that this could lead to widespread death and destruction for one filthy rich man's greed.

You can't argue with Shakespeare.

But he can be banned in Thailand by the film censors.
