Good Quality Knee Support?

Featured Replies

Hello all

I'm going to be in CM for a few more weeks and weather permitting shall be doing some trekking while I'm here, but I do need a good quality knee support though.

I've been to all the drug stores and medical supplies that I come across and they all sell those thin, flimsy lightweight supports for about 350 Baht. I need thicker and stronger, so if anyone reading here has any idea where a good study knee support can be purchased in CM, prey do tell.

Tks

Have you been to what appear to be major medical supply stores across the street from the CMU Medical School (Suan Dok)?

If unable to find anything there, I would try the Ram orthopaedics clinic on the first floor immediately to the left as you go in the front door. Just go in and ask the nurses manning the desk there how to get one.

Another approach would be to go up to the forth floor specialty clinic and ask those nurses.

I know they do order special devices and can get anything you want.

I bought a knee support which also included steel hinges at one of the many PharmaChoice outlets. They had a variety of knee support products as well. I know of 2 locations, one opposite McCormick Hospital and the other on Charoen Muang Road just past Thung Hotel Rd. I believe there is one on Suthep Rd.

there is one opposite Suan Dok Hospital as well as several other pharmacies that have medical supplies.

Thanks everybody you give some good choices.

to be honest, it didn't cross my mind to go check at a hospital thumbsup.gif I didn't know about medical supply stores either, only drug stores that are becoming almost as common as 7/11's. I'm not too far from that Suan Dok area so i'll check them out later today.

Back home i've always got knee supports from Sports shops, which is quite a logical choice when you think about it, but i had no luck here in CM. None of the sports stores in Centra KSG sold them (although one of the kids said they did but were sold out), and the sports outlet at Airport Plaza had something similar to the drug stores which are little more use than a sock.

Thanks once again to noise, vagabond48, and hello dolly thumbsup.gif . I have a feeling I'll be sorted now with one of the options above.

Just a quick update here for those who might be interested.

I went to Pharma Choice near McCormichospital and got a good quality knee support for about 320 Baht. It's much better than the thin flimsy options that all the drug stores sell. In actual fact they had so many different supports for knees, legs, ankles, you name it, they stocked it. They had the extra strong options like yours too nattydread. Very impressive store indeed.

So thanks once again for the leads from everyone ;)
