Fake Aia Insurance Agents

Featured Replies

Has anyones family been hit by these?

Agents claiming they represent AIA and sell fake insurance policies, and just collect the fees for themselves.

They have official looking documents, but which in reality are fakes. The only way to make sure the agents are real is to check with the real office (not with the number they supply you).

The big question is how are the payments being made. Normally paying AIA insurance you have an invoice come through where you pay at the bank. Paying by cheque to AIA, if you've crossed the cheque it should be impossible for them to cash.

You don't mean to say the people are paying the sweet little agents in cash, I hope! w00t.gif

Where do they sell these policies?

Anyone who buys anything at the door from a 'cold caller' is......well......a little bit foolish.

Friends of my wife got hit. They own a busy shop in Warowat and find it difficult to juggle travel appointments so when these 'Agents' came to the shop just before renewal time with official documents, and knowledge about their existing policies, they handed over their cash.

Was an inside job for sure

A former AIA Insurance salesman of mine here quit working with his former insurance company, but before leaving the building he purloined the records of policy holders. I got an email from him telling me that my policy was up for renewal--which it was, and, of course, he wanted me to renew through him. The company, however, asserts that he is operating dubiously. He lost my trust.

My wife is a bone fide AIA rep :)
