Question About Extending Tourist Visa

Featured Replies

I obtained a double entry tourist Visa and my first stamp expires on the

5th July 2012.

When would be the best time to visit the immigration Department

to obtain a one-month extension? Could it be done the day before

and is it given on the spot or do you have to go back the next day

to collect your passport?

Go about a week early - you lose nothing as the 30 days starts at the end of current stay.

Great, exactly what I need to know as well...mine is up on 1st of July.

So I'll go a week early to Chiang Mai immigration to extend for a month on my 2 months.

Is there any requirement to show 20k in the bank book etc ?

Anything to watch out for that would trip up the 30-day extension for circa 1900 Baht.... ?

good question

Nope. Fill the form in and pay the money. (1,900 Baht)

Don't forget the passport size photo.
