Hello guys,

I bought a new battery for my phone from Ebay. I bought it last Wednesday night (7-6-12) but i haven't received the item yet. It was around 6 US Dollars (200 baht). The item's location was from Hong Kong and the seller had 99.1% positive feedback. I have bought many items from Ebay and received them all but this one is taking long time. It's been a week already and i don't think it should take that much time for receiving an item from Hong Kong to Bangkok. Last year i bought a PS3 game and i had received it after 3rd day. The seller sends with standard free shipping. Any help?

Yes, it hasn't arrived yet.

(18 minutes later - sorry, rough day at the virtual office).

I've had a few ebay orders from HK (often mainland C.) arrive in as little as six days and upwards of 15.

Hang in there brother. On the bright side, many Chinese shippers send items in nondescript packages

often sliding right by those that would levy a duty.

Orders from China via eBay or others can potentially take a very long time now when sent via post. Last year a Chinese shipper explained to me that a new scanning procedure had been put in place requiring all packages to be scanned. This has resulted in major slowdown for posted items leaving China. As you may know, the FTA with China-Thailand now allows for products manufactured, sourced and shipped from China to be duty free. But, don't count on customs not trying to assign duty in some cases.

On a large order you may wish to take then to arbitration. If your int. shipper keeps telling you: "Sir, you must pay the duty" refer to the FTA and hold your ground. Through experience I can tell you, you can win.

One note here. These delays have, in some cases been used to defraud. Experience again, the shipper will send a package of useless product. It will show as being delivered. As you move to contact the shipper they will generally accept the mistake and ask you to send the "junk" back and they will re-ship.

On an eBay-PayPal transaction you have the opportunity to open a case but that is within a given time. The company may string you out well beyond the time limit given by eBay and Paypal and you will find yourself with no recourse or recovery or opportunity to even list negative feedback on eBay as the window has closed.
