What'S The Uk "Buy In" Bank Rate For Thb?

Featured Replies

I'm heading back to the UK in a few weeks for a short holiday and as I earn my money here, it makes sense to take cash with me. However, I'm not sure whether it's best to buy GBP here in Thailand or wait until I get to England to sell a wad of THB. Does anyone know the current UK "buy" rate for THB as I can't seem to find it on the www. We're not talking huge amounts - approx 40,000THB.

Cheers,

Pikey.

I certainly wouldn't take Thai Baht to UK and exchange it, I'd do it in Thailand where you'll get a better exchange rate IMO.

Buy back rates of currency in the UK seem a total rip off to me.

Just an example for you, the Post Office Uk Would as of todays rates give you 699.97 for 40000 baht at a rate of 57.15 baht to the UK pound.

If you were buying baht the rate is 46.31 you would receive 32414 baht.

As they say up to you but I know what I'd do.

I never buy Thai baht in the Uk and never exchange Thai baht in the UK.

HTH.

MB1,

Thanks for the reply. That's exactly the kind of info I was looking for but was unable to find. I was thinking around 50 baht but 57 - phew!

Cheers,

Pikey.
