Support Thai Child Visa...Korat

Featured Replies

Anyone else having any issues with this type of visa of late....especially at Korat....but perhaps any other region also ??

I am having issues these last couple weeks...

Went to the other Immigration office in korat ....division 4 all ready for a fight.

Did not go that way, but they are being painful....in a nice way but.

What kind of problems?

Firstly.....we rent a house and they wanted the owners house registration......they had never asked for this before and it was not in their list of required documents...so they tell me they need this on the day I lodge.

We have the signed lease and that is all that was ever asked for before and supplied.

The owners live in America and is not a simple task to get requested docs, in fact not possible for some time.

They stated that i would have to leave the country then if cannot get....

Secondly...I have the court documents from family court recognising me as the father of my son...this has been used for last 7 years or so....never a prior issue....also have my daughters birth certificate here and associated docs.....all ok prior years.

Last week we were told that they did not believe the court document and wanted a further document from the Buri Ram Amphur. I was not prepared to do this as if they did not recognise the family court document all of a sudden, that is their issue and they should discuss it with the family court and tell them their documents suck.

Anyway, we went and missus in particular...today ready for an argument and myself holding out the same I did a few years ago and waited 7 months for them to give me my visa.....the gent we met with was so nice, smiling and giggling the whole time...explaining the 'why' to us...and while I did not agree with it, I felt if it was a new ridiculous requirement, then so be it, another hoop.....he did explain why and apparently there is one incident of a thai wife suing the foreign partner (why no idea) and he did not support financialy nor even provide a home or lived with them....immi found this out via the court case and Bkk jumped on them for issuing a visa type like this without checking it out fully and confirming everything...so now....they are making it harder for everyone in the category.

We have to drive to Buri Ram next week, get the court document stamped at the Amphur and this then supposedly is all....I find it rather pathetic, but so be it.

I presume the child/wife are resistered somewhere else on a house hold registration? If that is the case, they want to see proof that you are living togehter elsewhere, that also determines which immigration office you should turn to. Also wanting to see the house owners registration is a bit far, but not unheard of. As they said, the want to make sure because if they make a mistake they get jumped upon by BKK.

I guess they also want to see a statement from the amphur regarding who has custody over the child for this reason. Not sure if you can't apply at any amphur. A lot of registrations at the amphurs is in a national data base, so you could give it a try at the nearest amphur.

They have proof...we took their stupid photos in the house...on the bed...eating dinner....even my boy in the toilet in the background that I bet they did not spot.....

The thing is....if they do not believe the family court document now....whats next ??

I shall get the missus to call our local Amphur and ask, thanks for the tip.

I have read a lot of info on here about the requirement to get a document from the Amphur to recognise you as the father, supporting and such.

What happened yesterday was the exact opposite of it all.

I will not disclose it here...cos TV has big ears and you never know whom might be listening.

If anyone needing this document for support of a thai child visa...you could PM for the info.
