Hi,

My wife likes to browse a website simillar to this but for Thai foriegn expates worldwide and in Thailand. I don't want to put the web adress up, i'm not sure where i'd stand really with the rules.

My wife brought to my attention the growing number of posts being initiated (today 4) by Thai ladies on dating websites who have met falang elswhere in cyberspace. These ladies have taken the liberty of taking these mens pictures and posted them on this website for other Thai women to check off on to see if he's not playing the field or what ever else.

I'm a little divided about it, my wife says that is not nice to have people disrespect your privacy and to have you life analysed, I think it's great to see the way these ladies network but I read a couple of posts an felt that personally I'd be disgusted to see my personal particulars and photos everywhere for all to scrutinise.

I don't think TV would ever let posters place personal particulars and pictures of Thai ladies from dating sites on here for us to check.

Its called the internet. Privacy has disapeared. There are no moderator on the internet so anything can be posted until government or big business complain to search engines. The average person has no clout.

Indeed, we have had issues with other members who have posted peoples photos without their knowledge or their permission and did so on a regular basis despite being told not to. Thaivisa would not allow people to post other peoples personal information. Those doing so get banned. It is one thing for someone to post their own information and photo and something else entirely to do so to an unwilling and unknowing victim.

And yes forum rules prohibit the posting of links to other forums.

So, in that light and considering your question has now been answered as to the feasibility of this kind of invasion of privacy on TV, I see this thread only going downhill by those members who cannot help themselves but discuss moderation.
