I know if you leave work mid-work permit, you go to immigration and get a one week stamp to stay in the country to settle your affairs.

My situation is a little different, I'm coming to the end of my work contract am not renewing for another year and my work permit and visa will reach their expiration date on my last day of work. Do immigration give this stamp for naturally ending work permits and visas.

You do not need to cancel anything, as in your case it will be ancelled automatically.

You can still get an extra 7 days, or make a border run for an extra 15 days. The extension will cost 1,900 baht.

That's why I pointed out the border run. Depending on your location, it might be easier/more cost effective to just make a border run and get an extra 15 days (depending on your nationality).
