D Drive Problem

I was copying some movie files to a cd quickly,to clean up my computer

and there was an error saying 'can not complete copy to disc'. When I looked at the

cd again I noticed that all previous data from the cd had vanished.

I wasn't too concerned as I could probably recover this later. But now when I put a blank

cd in and try to access it through windows I get an error saying D drive is not accessable

..Incorrect Function.

I then tried a blank sony DVD and have had the error, please insert a disk?.

Music cds play ok, and vcds aswell?

Can anyone help me with this? Is my D drive corrupt in anyway?

Thanks

i would have said yes - somethings up - but if it can still read music and vds then im not sure....

have you tried software cds - does windows autoplay say a driver cd or any other software?

:o

That's it, the windows autoplay pops up when the cd is inserted. I click on 'Open writable

cd folder using windows' and then I get the error message.

I can copy files through Nero to cd, so I think there's a problem with windows?
