Went to this as in CM for the weekend.

A pal had Fisherman's Pie ...... but no homemade bread! (portion a good size)

I had Liver and Bacon with mash ........ portion a bit small but what there was tasted very good.

(I'm assuming this was a 'special offer' sized portion, cos if someone tried to charge me 195bht for that, I would have been really pissed)

I really wanted the Hungarian Pork stew with homemade bread ....... not on menu

The Chang was Chang draught.

Waitress had no idea about the specials even though clearly written on a notice outside.

Tried to bill us 90bht for the beer instead of the offer price of 50bht ...... until I pointed out the error, when again she went outside to look at the menu.

It wasn't an experience I could recommend to a friend.

thank you for your feedback Tommo. a couple of issues for the chef, you should have got bread and butter - i assume you asked for it when it didnt arrive, so i will sort out what the problem was. The liver 'n bacon was not a 'special offer size' and this chef has been with us for six years so I'm not sure why you got a small portion, i'll take that up with her.

We do make Hungarian Pork Stew, its not on the menu - yet, but the day girl has only been with us for 3 weeks and didn't know that. My apologies.

I don't quite understand your point about Chang being Chang draught. how else would we serve a pint? I'm delighted that my new girl had the initiative to check the board to ensure you were charged the right price for Chang. Believe me, after three weeks that ranks as great initiative!

If you would care to PM me with some form of ID/codeword, I'd be delighted to offer you a voucher to try any of our offer dishes over the weekend whilst you are in CM to show you that I do value your comments and that we can get things right most of the time!!

Well Pedr your generousity in this case I dont think is deserved. The customer simply had bigger expectations about the size of what was on offer............. my first thought was he is being greedy, but some of us tackle a bigger plateful than others.

The fact that the staff were not up to speed with the current promotion surely should not detract from the enjoyment of the evening and any error in pricing obviously was inadvertant.

Your voucher offer was more than he deserved; if I was offered a voucher I would honestly be too embarrassed to return and use it.

I spoke to the chef who says the the portion Tommo received was the same size as when we charge the regular price - our special offers are just that - we don't skimp on the size of the portions. Most people are happy with the portion sizes, this lady obviously wasn't. She must need more food than the average lady. I'll add the voucher value to our hill tribe kids collection box. Hope you find a big enough trough somewhere else Tommo!

I can't see anything in OBP's post that mentions being obese. If the portions were of regular size and TP wanted more, it must mean she eats more than most - it dont mean she's necessarily obese -maybe she works out a lot.

Er, I wasn't mocking obese customers with a BMI of 32, I couldn't in all honesty do that. I was pointing out that Thursday promotion our Liver 'n Bacon portions are the same size as the regular ones. I sell a lot of Liver and Bacon and most people are satisfied with the portion size. If Tommo wasn't satisfied, she must by any logical assessment therefore require larger portions than the average woman (we are still talking food here). I hope she found suitable portions wherever she ended up!
