Visited Immigration at Chaeng Wattana today.

Due to an unexpected and sudden departure was hoping to extend my Non Imm O three weeks before expiry. Proved to be not possible but was granted a multi-entry extension and told when and how to go back and apply for an eventual 1-year extension.

"Congratulations to Immigration" I say. Have not encountered more friendly, helpful and very good humoured staff anywhere in the world.

We all like to complain but all credit when and where it's due.

You were attempting to extend for what? AFAIK it is always allowed during the last 30 days of any permitted to stay entry and just did mine a week ago there more than 3 weeks prior to expiration of current extension.

Or are you saying you would not be back in Thailand and there was an under review period involved making it impossible?
