Hi All

I am on a 30 day tourist visa I am going to do a visa run to Savhanaket. What is the status on obtaining a tourist visa and what is the longest entry I can obtain. Is a double or multi entry available?

Also my 30 day visa ends on a weekend is it ok to overstay a day or will I need to leave before the visa expires?

You should be able to get a double entry, 60 days each, which can be extended at immigration for an additional 30 days, making each 90 days.

One photo for your Lao visa and two for your Thai visa. If you can pay in U.S. for your Lao visa it will save you money compared to paying in Bhat. They want U.S. Copy of front page of passport, copy of Lao visa page/Lao entry stamp. Lao visa prices vary by country. Canadians pay $42 U.S. weekends Lao visas are $1.00 more. Hopes this helps.

Savannakhet/Laos casino are doing a deal for visa runners, they will pick you up from mukdahan of the boarder, express you over the boarder and take you to Thai Consulate and back again, stay in 5 * hotel will all meals, + free gift, looks a good deal .... click on the banner on the right adverts

I would suggest paking your car at the Savan Vegas car park, just before you get to the boarder. They will charge a small fee to park there. You need to leave Thailand the day before your visa expires. There are multi entry visas available on application and will cost around 2000 baht. Near to the Thai consulate is a hotel that will transport you where ever you would like to go, cost 400baht a night, very nice modern hotel with wifi, Hotel Bua Luang Hotel, for more enquiries, you can visit us at the Picking Cowboy bar in Mukdahan, situated near to the River City Hotel.

You do not need to leave Thailand the day before a visa expires - you must leave by midnight on the permitted to stay until date stamped in your passport on last arrival or extension of stay.
