A Romantic Weekend In Bangkok

I'm planning on spending the weekend before and up through Valentine's Day in Bangkok with my girl. I've been to BKK many times, but don't really know much about where to go for a nice romantic time, so looking for some suggestions. Especially any of you Thai girls that know BKK, where/what activities would you find to be romantic in and around the city? My girl's very simple and not from the big city, and has only visited BKK a couple times, so anything we do will be a first for her.

Are the popular spots fully booked during the evening on Valentine's Day, and do they take/should I make reservations in advance?

What are the customs among young Thai people for Valentine's Day? Do they give gifts, and what sort of gifts? Is it just the man that gives something to the woman, or does the woman also give to her man?

Check into the Hyatt Spa Cottages for the night. I think it is about $700USD but you get your own 1 bedroom apartment, a full day or so of spa treatments, nails etc and your own private cottage all in the middle of town.

Champagne etc al included I think.

That would be a well impressive V day; for me I think just taking the girlie to noodles on the side of the road; a non aircon drive around the sights of Klong Toey followed by a romantic night in the back seat.

Bangkok is seriously not renown for its romantic atmosphere...then again, us farangs have a different notion of "romantic" compared to Thais.

Among other things, a picnic in Lumpini Park @ around sunset? Romantic and free :o

Book a suite in the Nana hotel. From there, you can stroll over the road to the Plaza, where you can enjoy a cocktail in one of the many elegant bars. A truly memorable Valentines night. :o

NICE, but perhaps Khun (Ms) Valentine might react viciously... :D

Thanks everyone for your suggestions!

:D I've always found that there's no way to impress your date like a little sports...Therefore you could first go shopping in the beautiful Patpong district followed by some noodle soup and for the grand finale.... Ping Pong and if you don't want to play the two of you could just watch the show!! :o

You want romantic? Stay away than from BKK and go 1 1/2 - 2 hours by car to Pattaya area (NO, don't worry) and go here:

The name sounds strange but it IS an extremely romantic place to stay for 2 or 3 nights; your lady will appreciate it.

If you want to go out, just take a cab outside and go for an evening to Pattaya, but in fact if SHE+YOU want romance....you don't need it.

It has a very beautiful PRIVATE beach and is quiet. Large swimmingpool and deckchairs.

GEORGOUS Tropical garden!!!

I have been there.....

success!
