Tribute To Rip George Best The Legend

Featured Replies

i find it strange that this wife beating philandering abusive drunk should be accorded the status of semi god on his death.

yes , he was a character and his footballing talent was out of this world.

but his private life and habits were disgraceful and should not be glorified.

r.i.p. besty. you were a poor example to others.

People have been paying homage to George Best because of his football skills and what he has done for the game of football, not to many clips of what he did in his own time.

By no means is anyone condoning his antics off the pitch, but embracing what he has done on it.

I don’t think there is a person reading this that hasn’t done something they are not proud of,

At the end of the day we all have our skeletons,

Sitting anonymously behind a computer is fine but 50 years from now George Best is still a legend, you are a cynical post on an Internet forum.

Has the Internet replaced kicking over kid’s sandcastles?

people should be glorified and for the good people they were ,

i maintain that best was a poor example to others. he was violent to his women , he was a poor father he was unreliable and he was a drunk and even after receiving a liver transplant and the priceless care of doctors , nurses and loved ones , he still managed to screw it all up like a spoilt child.

yet he is remembered as some kind of laddish god.

he was a brilliant footballer , but as a human being he was a waste of space , a waste of time , and a waste of other peoples love.

he let everybody down.

nothing cynical about that.

may he rest in peace , but may he be remembered as an example to others of how not to lead your life , and not as some kind of loveable rogue. he was a pr1ck.

GEORGE BEST was an ALCOHOLIC.

That is classsified as a DISEASE (ask any Doctor)

When you have a disease of his nature, most of the time you have not got a clue what you are doing.

There are a few high proifile footballers that have suffered from alcoholism , some have come through it (Paul Merson-Tony Adams-Alex Rae,) these guys have their problems under control at present but could fall off the wagon at any given moment, wheras some as yet have not managed to conquer their personal demon,Paul Gascoigne for example is still struggling.

Just think yourself lucky that you have not been aflicted by this disease, if you had been or understood an iota about it, you would not be posting the posts you are which to me indicate ignorance.

Please try and educate yourself before making flippant remarks that upset people
