Non B Visa

Featured Replies

I have Non b visa which expires on 9th August 2012. I have just received my work permit. what do I need to do when I leave in august for a holiday to UK. Re entry permit, new visa?? Many Thanks

What exactly do you have? You say expires August 9 and then talk about a vacation in August. Do you have a multi entry visa issued by a Consulate for 90 day stays? Do you have a one year extension of stay issued for work? Does the extension end August 9? It would appear you need a new visa for a new entry after your vacation if only permitted to stay until August 9.

I have a one year multiple entry non b visa vaild from 9th of august 2011 to 9th of August 2012. I have a work permit vaid from july 2012 to july 2013. Hope that gives you more information

What is your current entry? That will determine if a re-entry permit can be used and if logical. If your return was 9 August or before you would be able to get a new 90 day stay but suspect that is unlikely (but you have not provided dates). Are you going to be able to extend your stay for employment? If not you should be thinking a new multi entry visa I suspect so be sure to take the required paperwork with you in that case.

Just checked and the last date is 7th september 2012. So do i just extend my current one or do i have to get a new one.

That is your permitted to stay until date I believe? Will you have returned to Thailand before that date? It seems you will so you could get a re-entry permit allowing return until that date if you are sure you qualify for extension of stay (most teachers would but those hired by new companies might not due no tax records available (or they might not have the required monthly income for extension).

yes i will be back in thailand before 7th september. So re entry permit and extension then?

Or do the extension before you leave and a re-entry permit at the same time.

I am sure that is the wrong way round... If you do the extension before you go then you DO need the re-entry.... If you have a multi entry now then when you return you get another 90 days [no need for a re-entry] when you return on the last 90 days then you can do the extension

My Nigerian friends was SCAM by Thai authority,he has a Non B visa, and he did work permit, but Immigration refuse to give him Visa to stay and work,i was SHOCKED beyond words, how and why did they take his 18,000 Baht and gave him work permit if they know they will not give him Visa???? How can he get his 18,000 Work Permit back because of no use having work permit without been giving Visa to stay???

Immigration does not provide visas or work permits - they provide extensions of stay if you qualify for such. Just having a work permit does not mean you can qualify for an extension of stay. Many people have to exit country every 90 days for new visa/entry if you can not qualify for extension of stay. For a Nigerian that could be a problem due to visa issue policies at Consulates but has nothing to do with any scam.
