Common sense prevails in the judiciary, if not in white van man's football-supporting moral planet, sculpted so carefully by Digger Murdoch biggrin.png

He is guilty in my eyes just cos he plays for that lot. That's all the evidence I need. biggrin.png

Haha smoke you just don't give up....stubborn as a muie! I suppose your lot getting relegated next season will be JT's fault also! tongue.png

He has admitted to "losing it a bit" however. Maximum fine please. clap2.gif

Case against him sounds very thin so far. Though you can normally never predict an outcome from journos alone, they have been into him so much that you would expect them to be having a field day by now. The tenor of press comments (subdued) speaks volumes. Watch out for the 'we told you he was unfairly treated' volte face. I'm sure all you Spuds will carry on regardless with your loathing.

Remember...this bloke shagged his teammates wife. He is scum.

On a point of fact she was Bridge's girlfriend and on a point of opinion it was never clear (to me anyway, but I never studied the tabloids) whether he shagged her while Bridge was his teammate and whether the Brige/girlfriend relationship was still 'on' at the time he was shagging her. I still think you spuds are convicting him in circumstances that were never fully investigated or revealed. It's too bloody easy to get critical of what goes on in relationships when you don't know the facts and when the whole thing is being whipped up by the press.

[My motivation is that I dilsike the press and how they contort people's views. I'm, no aplogist for Terry. What happens in other people's personal relationships is of no great interest to me and I certainly don't go chucking $hit about when I am not whiter than white myself]

Yes, as I understood it, Bridge was already separated from his gf. Terry was taken to task for having a fling with her. I never really understood that. Like nobody's ever had a relationship with a girl who's had a previous bf? Was she expected to remain celibate for the rest of her life? I guess some conflict arises though because both players were in the same team and thus a certain amount of jealousy and bad feeling could result.

The press reports at the time indicated, and clearly Bridge himself believed, it happened DURING their relationship. Otherwise he wouldn't feel so p*ssed off about it.

It was only after the gagging order was lifted, and Terry paid her maybe 800,000 quid to keep her trap shut, that Perroncel started saying it happened after her relationship with Bridge had stopped, and to be fair, who wouldn't say that.

But clearly Bridge thought, probably on very good grounds, that it happened during it, the Terry/Clifford/Perroncel PR machine notwithstanding.

The Courts have to abide by the Rule 'Of beyond reasonable doubt', a system I agree with, however the FA or a Civil court will work within the reference of ' Balance of Probabilities',

Balance of Probabilities, Guilty as charged

Beyond reasonable doubt, no hope of conviction

I thought that after day one as well. Still I had hope....biggrin.png

I think that sounds realistic and probable. If he shagged a team colleague's active girlfriend (who by definition must not have been too committed in the relationship) it shows poor judgement by Terry and I would not begrudge a cuckolded lover taking a pop at him. But does it justify a campaign of public hate and retribution within the public eye, such as Terry suffered? No way in my view.

What goes on in a man's bed has no relevance to the workplace and the general populace. It is purile (and at a personal level probably hypocritical for most journos and certainly Murdoch himself, who had an affair and left his wife of many years for a young Chinese assistant) the way the press jumps all over public personlities just to promote their own revenues. It plays straight into the hands of white van man morality, so endemic in football. 'My woman is my property' and all that shit.

I think I'll lay off my rant on Terry now. smile.png

PS - no I've never cuckolded another man if that's what you guys are thinking sick.gif
