DSI asked to investigate illegal use of electricity around Pattaya

PATTAYA:--Members of the Pattaya Asset Protection Club have filed a complaint with the Eastern Branch of the Department of Special Investigations (DSI) relating to allegations that individuals and companies are using electricity for free and the local authorities are doing nothing about it.

Khun Komsan, the chairman of the club presented documents to the Director of the DSI Office, located in North Pattaya on Thursday. Khun Prawit accepted the case which will now be investigated further. The documents include Police reports which have already been filed with Pattaya and Banglamung Police Stations and details of 19 locations around Pattaya where the club claim to have evidence of junction boxes and commercial signs which are using free electricity.

The group have come to the DSI due to inaction by Pattaya and Banglamung Police and believe the numerous power cuts experienced around Pattaya may, in some way, be caused by this alleged illegal practice.
