So I will have a 60 day tourist visa. I have already purchased my return tickets. From when I arrive and leave it is a total of 90days. Will this be a problem getting in? I was hoping to fly out to Singapore on day 60 and re-enter. does this re-entry give me 30 days? I have heard in some cases you only get 15?

Travel will not be a problem. You do not need to leave to obtain an extra 30 days on a tourist visa - any immigration office can extend for 1,900 baht fee and TM.7 form. If you do leave and return it will be a visa exempt entry for 30 days (return by air) or 15 days (by land).

One more question..Do I have to apply for the extension in Bangkok? I will be in Koh phangan around the 60 day mark.

Agree w/lop. In the past I always made the flight 90 days out. Also, I would get a triple entry tourist visa but I didn't provide any tickets for the additional entries. Always approved. And this was not paying extra for the services (and connections) of an agent, in fact once it was free during the period a while back where TV's were free. It was back in my home country which is much easier (except for the additional travel) than getting them from a border embassy/consulate.

You have to go to Immigration on Koh Samui.

Take the ferry to Nathon and get a motorbike taxi take you to immigrations.
