Non Immigrant Visa

Featured Replies

hey guys just recieved my non immigrant visa category "o" good for two journeys. Just a quick question after both 90 days are done on the visa is there a way of extending or do i need to leave the country again to get an additional two 90 day entries again? if so im an australian and is it easy to do in a nearby country really dont want to fly all the way back to aus although it was quite an easy process here.

thanks for any help or advice

If you qualify for one of the reasons for an extension of stay, for example visiting your Thai wife or Thai child, you can get a 60-day extension, otherwise not. There are also one-year extensions available for qualified applicants. Details are in Police Order 777/2551

To activate the second entry of your visa, you can just travel to a neighbouring country and return to Thailand on the same day, if you wish. Depending on the country you go to, you may have to get a visa for that country.

Incidentally, the non-O visa is usually issued either for a single entry or for multiple, ie unlimited, entries. Did you specifically ask for two entries, and did you pay double the price of a single entry?

As not all consulates handle visa applications the same way, it would be interesting to know at what consulate you applied, what you indicated as purpose of your trip on the application form, and what documents you had to supply.

P.S. By the way, welcome to ThaiVisa. I see you signed up just today.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

Memory tells me that Australian Consulates do issue 2 entry Non Imm O Visas.

As Maestro said unless you qualify you need to exit and return.

hey yeh i went to the consulate in melbourne payed $180. i asked for 4 entries but they said no. just told them i was goin on a gap year holiday. had to just supply 1 application form two passport photos my in board ticket itinery no return ticket booked yet i also showed them a bank statement but they didnt care to much and my passport i went in on a friday and it was done on monday they sent the passport out via registerd mail with the envelope i supplied.

Does any one know if i can get the same thing done in singapore because i do want to stay away 4 1 year and rather not fly back to melbs to get the same visa again?

The same thing meaning a new 3 entry tourist visa? That is a no.

In Laos you might get a single entry tourist visa, a double if you'r lucky. But nobody can predict the policy in 9 months time.

Each entry can be extended by 30 days, so on a 3 entry tourist visa you can get 270 days in Thailand.

That consulate does not appear to offer multi entry non immigrant O visas. Only one or two entry and seems to use

Non-Immigrant visa category 'O' is for the applicants wishing to enter the Kingdom of Thailand on a long term holiday, visiting family or friend, or volunteer purposes. An applicant can only apply at maximum 2 entries.
rather than the current MFA
to stay with the family, to perfrom duties for the state enterprise or social welfare organizations, to stay after retirement for the elderly, to receive medical treatment, to be a sport coach as required by Thai Government, to be a contestant or witness for the judicial process.

I suspect you may have been provided visa under the special working holiday program with Oz? It is not a normal entry and I am sure Singapore would not issue you a non immigrant visa. Tourist travel is what you say and that means a tourist visa.
