Cashing A Cheque

Featured Replies

Express taxback(tax refund agency) want to send me a cheque for a tax refund I'm due, is cashing the cheque at a bank in Thailand be possible?

Yes, but it will take about 3-4 weeks to clear and a charge of $10.00 (around 300 Baht). This is what it has been for me with Bangkok Bank. This is also assuming you have an account as it will have to be deposited to it.

I did once write a cheque to myself on my Canadian bank account and deposited it into my Bangkok Bank account. Took between two and three weeks to clear. Can't remember any specific charge for doing it, though.

Thanks guys. I'm not in a rush for it to clear and a 300baht fee is fine so happy to cash it here.
