Which Thai Visa Do I Need?

Featured Replies

I need some advice regarding which visa is right for me. Im a UK resident.

Im visiting thailand & cambodia for a total of 58 days. I will be spending a couple of weeks in thailand before heading into cambodia for 3 weeks. I'll then return to thailand for the rest of the trip.

Can I get away with the free 30 day thai tourist visa on arrival for the first part of the trip, then get my cambodia visa in bangkok(?) & another thai tourist visa on the thai border for the remainder of the trip after my first one has expired? Is this possible?

If not I could get a 60 day thai visa in advance but im not sure if this would be valid for more than 1 entry into the country?

Whats the best way to do it? Any advice appreciated..........

Will you fly to Cambodia and have a confirmed reservation for your flight, or will you cross into Cambodia by land?

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

My guess is that you do not have onward confirmed air reservations within 30 days of arrival as required for a 30 day entry stamp at airport and in that case the airline may not allow you to board. I would advise a tourist visa, either single entry and then a 30 day stamp on return or a two entry tourist visa.

I would def agree with that - Thai Consulates have very good web pages with all the info on them but to save the hassle I would go for a two entry tourist visa. That wha i went for in a similar position when I was going to laos. Single or double entry are easy enough to apply for.

If you keep to the schedule you mention then a single tourist visa will suffice no need to waste another 25 pound on a second entry.

I/d definately get the single entry to get you on the plane...........sounds like you/ll be re-entering Thailand from Cambodia at approx the 35 day stage of your holiday, providing you leave when you say you are going to and have a confirmed plane ticket back to the UK then you/ll be allowed to enter Thailand on the 30 day exemption stamp after your Cambo visit.
