Interested to know what building permits have cost various people in any areas, but particulalry the more popular and populace areas of Bkk, Phuket, Samui, Pattaya and possibly Kanchanaburi if anyone is around that area.

We have just completed a permit in the Bkk metro area for a house of 350sqm, an area on a subway route and the permit cost 18k and issued in around 2 weeks.

Several changes had to be made to the drawings to come into the guidelines and the land department did these themselves.

A friend paid 5k in Phuket for the permit to be issued in a day from memory.

I believe it cost us less than 200 baht here in Chiang Mai. Got the plans approved in less than a week.

Did you get a written approval?

When I extended my house in Chonburi I submitted the plans to the Tambon office and was given a verbal approval to go ahead, but never saw anything in writing.

Not sure we paid either, of if we did it was peanuts.

Got official stamp & signatures on every page of the plans. As in your case the cost was peanuts, or more realistically a bag of cashews :o
