How Do I Format My Address?

Featured Replies

Friends, I need some help formatting my address...I've looked online and at the forums, but I still want to ask to make sure I'm doing it right :)

Here's what I have so far...

123/45, Condominium Name = House Number & Condominium Name

123 Sukhumvit 45 = Street Adress

Phrakhanong Nua = District? Province?

Wattana Bangkok = City (thought I'm not sure what Wattana is?)

Thailand = Country

10110 = Postal code

Thanks

Jacob

My guess is that should get there. Always add the phone number if it is ems or other delivery as the deliverer will phone for directions.

In some cases there is a moobahn eg moo14 tanon anything.

this is important too as numbers do not allways go sequentially in the street....especially in the provices and there may be several mmbahns with the same number.

Whenever I change address I allways send myself a few blank letters with different spellings of my name....eg me smitth m.e.smith martin smith. Helps the postie get used to you and increases the success rate of future mail instead of a slightly off address going in the too hard bin.

You can write in a fews way and it is all ok such as:

123/45 Sukhumvit (Soi?), Phra Khanong Nhua, Wattana, Bangkok 10110

123/45 Sukhumvit 71 (71 is meaning soi number on Sukhumvit road for example), Phrakanong Nua, Wattana(sometime you can see they write Vadnana), Bangkok 10110

Normally Phrakhanong Nua is cover Sukhumvit Soi 73-75/1 and Soi 77/1-81 and most of the time they have also second name for the soi numer, example :

Sukhumvit Soi 71 = Soi Pridi Banomyong

Sukhumvit Soi 77 = Thanon On Nut

Sukhumvit Soi 79 = Soi Niyom

Sukhumvit soi 81 = Soi Siri Phot

Anyway you write only this and it is good enough: 123/45 Sukhumvit (Soi?, Number of Soi is important),

Phrakonong Nua,

Wattana,

Bangkok 10110

This is what I would use:

House number

Building or Moo bahn number

Tambon name

Amphoe name / City name

Province

Postal code

Thailand

Thank you for the info

This is what I would use:

House number

Building or Moo bahn number

Tambon name

Amphoe name / City name

Province

Postal code

Thailand

What he said except that some places can have a building AND moobahn number.

This is a sub-district, or as they are called in Bkk only, a kwaeng.

Wattana Bangkok = City (thought I'm not sure what Wattana is?)

Wattana is a district name, in Bkk only they are know as khet.

Therefore, Phrakhanong Nua is a sub-district of Wattana.
