Confirmation Of Financial Requirements For Marraige Visa Please

Featured Replies

I have seen on many web sites that for a marraige visa then you either have to show a 40,000B a month income or have 400,000b in a Thai bank for two months. Somewhere is also stated that if you can show a UK pension of 400,000B or more a year (confirmed by the British Embassy letter)this will be accepted. What I want to have confirmed is that proof of 400,000B a year pension is definetely acceptable by the immigration authorities.

The Embassy letter I last received had the monthly pension on it, not the yearly amount, which was 65,000baht, but I do not qualify for a retirement extension, so used it for my marriage extension.

My office in Nonthaburi

The income letter has to verify 40,000 baht monthly income for an extension based upon marriage to a Thai.

I have over 400,000 Pension a year but not enough to say it is 40,000B a month. What I want confirmation of is does the criteria of at least 400,000 a YEAR pension meet the marraige visa application requirements.

The Embassy are quite good in this respect, they will give you the letter confirming the monthly amount of over 40,000baht, just go there and speak to them.

My letter said less than 65,000 but they made it up to that amount.

The 400,000 baht number is not enough to get the income letter. But if you have savings or any other income that can be added to your income the embassy will count that in as well using 480,000 baht as the needed total amount.

The other thing I noticed on one web site is that you can use a combination of yearly pension plus money in Thai bank to make up the 400K requirement. Again how true this is I am not sure. Have tried ringing the immigration people but the phones never get answered.

No. It has to be one or the other , not a combination.

(6) In case of marriage with a Thai lady, the husband who is an alien must have an average annual income of not less than 40,000 baht per month or a money deposit in a local Thai bank of not less than 400,000 baht for the past 2 months for expenses within a year.

For an extension based upon marriage you cannot combine income and a bank balance at immigration. That option is only for retirement extensions.

The embassy will combine the 2 and give you the letter as long as it meets the monthly income requirement.
