Tachileik (Mae Sai Border) Accommodation?

Recommended Posts

I know it's a bit of a long shot but does anyone have any idea what the options are for staying overnight in Tachileik, the border town in Burma opposite Mae Sai?

Apart from the casino place I only found one website / blog which showed an OK looking hotel for B600, but it didn't give the name and also gave no date for when the person was there so things could've changed by now.

Thanks for any recommendations / help.

Thanks for all the info.

The reason I'm staying there a night is so that I don't overstay when I leave for Europe in October (passport won't have room for an overstay stamp and I don't fancy negotiating with immigration if it comes to that).

It's not really an inconvenience staying there. Sounds like finding accommodation isn't a problem so I guess I'll just take a walk around and find a place to stay.

I did a "border run" in May and stayed overnight at the Navy Home Hotel in Mae Sai. It's about 800m from the border. It's a basic hotel with good bed, clean, good aircon, TV with two English language news channels and a movie channel in English. Staff is nice and the lady that checked me in spoke passable English but the rest of the staff very little. I was satisfied and would stay there again. I booked it through Agoda.

I did a trip report on my "border run" to Mae Sai.
