Increase In Rape Of Foreigners In Thailand

Yeah, Tippaporn has shown his "respect and good feeling" already, and didn't need to be reminded of the question.

However, and I know you won't take this the wrong way, Tippaporn, after my initial curiousity and being intrigued, I am also disappointed you've come nowhere near answering Guesthouse's question after some lengthy explanations.

I suggest testing your philosophical views in public, for the first time, and on an extremely challenging scenario, such as rape, isn't a wise thing to do.

If you haven't thought your presentation/argument through thoroughly enough, that's fine by me, just say so.

Please do us a favour and don't keep digging...

Over the last few months there seem to have been a marked increase in the number or

reported rapes, particularly against tourist girls.

Could this be related to the Government's policy to shut down the sex trade in Thailand?

Previously men/boys would have found a prostitute.

Is that becoming too difficult so they prey on innocent tourists?

I´ve heard from that story, but not against tourist women. My girlfriend is actually living in bangkok, and she told me that there are storys now on tv many times that young thai girl get raped on the streets many times. She scare now to go out at night already.

But I dont know what to tell her.....?

I am not sure I agree with blaming the Prime Minister for everything,

but at least you have back to my original point.

Should the government bear the blame for the increase in reported rape??

Most of the other posts seem to be about defining rape.

A number of comments were directly to your initial post, most of them questioning your train of thought, i.e. was there in fact a "marked increase" in rape cases, has the gov's policy had any impact on the availability of sex, is there a link between rape and not having access to sex services?

So posing the question "Should the government bear the blame for the increase in reported rape??" seems to me a bit off-track, as it doesn't address anything which has been discussed so far.
