Is Playing Online Poker Illegal In Thailand?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm hoping to travel to Thailand later this year and was hoping to subsidise my travels by playing online poker. I play online poker as my main source of income in the UK but I've just read that online poker maybe illegal to play in Thailand. I understand that conventional poker and gambling is illegal in Thailand but I didn't realise that this included online games.

Any advice would be most appreciated.

Thanks

Tris

Yep, all forms of gambling (except lottery-type things) are illegal in Thailand, and this includes the online versions. However, like all illegal things (porn, VOIP, porn, pirated software, porn, etc) in Thailand, you probably won't be arrested/caught as long as you don't make a huge show of doing it.
