The wheels of justice do turn slow, local gunman was out on bail over 15 months. Even when found guilty he wasn't banged up until after the sentencing hearing. He'd a month extra to do a runner. Used to creep me out seeing him with a gun in his hand at weddings. You know the crap, as the groom is walking to the venue. Crackers and guns going off.

I think some signed statemaents from the witnesses would be a good idea, as time does fog the memory plus it would help if they had a memory lapse due to an un(expected) winfall.
