Getting A 3 Months Malaysian Visa In Bangkok/Russian Passport. Need A Good Advice!

Featured Replies

I wanna tell you my story, a real love story. Hope for your attention and advisible feedback.

I am russian citizen, female, 32 years old. I've been travelling in Asia since 2,5 years. I've been to India, Indonesia, Thailand, always living a kind of happy hippie life, surviving on my monthly 600USD rental (which is enough to live a backpacker life in most of Asia). About 1 year ago i came with my french friend to Malaysia (for her it was 1st time, for me - not the first, as Malaysia was always a transit 2-3 weeks spot for me between India/Thailand/indonesia. And i met Him, a beautiful person with the beautiful heart. We fell in love so soon. He is 31, indian-malay, christian, an amazing drummer. he was born in KL and his parents as well. Neither he nor his parents have never been to india (even though their roots are 100% tamil; if you know the history of Malaysia then you'll understand what i mean).

Being a russian citizen doesn't give me any benefits of staying in Malaysia for more than 30 days. So, i used to come to Malaysia and get my 30 days chop every time, and in between i had to move out of Malaysia to Thailand (once i did it to Bali) and come back again. Our relationship became so much deeper and stronger that we can not stay from each other for a long time. last winter i did my trip to India (to Goa) to see friends and for DJing for a Goa season (that is my hobby and hardly i earn any money out of it), it was good for me to take a 3 months break from coming/going to Malaysia; not for me really but for Malaysian immigration. After Goa season has finished i came back to my love to KL and did 2 more natural visa runs (staying each time 1 week in Thailand). on the last arrival i've been told that this is my last time. I and my boyfriend were trying to 'solve' this problem by asking for help by paying 'special service' fee for my visa extension but they were asking too much. So i decided within 2 last days of my Malaysian visa to go to thai embassy and apply for 2-3 months visa to Thailand, hoping that maybe this 2-3 months gap will give me some benefit to enter Malaysia again. it's been almost 40 days since i am in Thailand (1 month in BKK) just sitting and waiting, My boyfriend came to visit me in BKK for 4 days (it was his first time he went out of his country). in future we are planning to get married and travel together, but now he has a lot of commitments back home and quite good job.

While he was with me in BKK we went to Malaysian Embassy and asked what do i need for applying for at least 3 months visa - and the clerk at the counter told us what is written on the embassy's site and that there is no 3 months Malaysian visa for citizens of Russian Federation. Then i insisted and my boyfriend has been told that he need to write a free form sponsor letter for my staying in Malaysia, but the embassy doesn't guarantee a positive response.

In 2 weeks time (after getting my rental and being able to pay for the visa fee; the only info about visa fee on Malaysian Embassy's site " - Visa fee: Based on Nationality ") i am going to apply for 3 months visa.

I appologize for such a long post but i just wanted to tell the true story and what i feel and i am looking forward for your advices. Maybe somebody or somebody's friends faced with a similar problem. Thank you for reading.
