Super Chalerm

She had best be careful just how much power he lets him taste. Chalerm may not to hand it over when his master returns.

You confused by this Skywalker69? Any comment, something to add or just what are we to deduce from that single smiley post?

You know that Muslim people live down there don't you? And that Yawi is a dialect of Malay that is spoken in the south? Is there a problem with dubbing the Yawi language onto TV shows or would you rather alienate the locals further?

Say something, anything!

Will dubbing TV shows stop the conflict in the south? blink.png

Is that it? You've heard the term hearts and minds? Let me give you an example - during the referendum for the 2007 constitution what do you think was the result of the fact that the military junta neglected to translate the constitution or the referendum question form into Malay. Would you feel marginalised? I'm just trying to get you to think on your own and stop posting <deleted> smileys and saying good post.

Ask yourself, were the Thai southern citizens marginalised because they couldn't read the referendum question in the national language, or because they refused to have themselves and their children educated in it, thus negating any chance of quality employment and increasing their marginalisation?

While considering, reflect on the number of teachers and schools that have been attacked.

The constitution wasn't distributed in the Malay language either. The southern Thai citizens were not at all marginalised as they had their own copies of both the referendum and the constitution in Thai.

(though I was kind of hoping that skywalker69 would reply, in words rather than symbols)

Charlem has alway been Thaksins number 1 fan. He gave Thaksin his firsts successfull business and they have been political allies throughout their careers........

In 1989 he launched IBC, a cable television company. At that time, Thaksin had a very good relationship with Chalerm Yoobumrung the Minister of the Prime Minister Office who was in charge of Thai press and media. It is a question that remains unanswered whether Chalerm granted the right to Thaksin to establish IBC just to benefit his close friend, seeing that this project had been denied by the previous administration but instantly accepted a very short period after Chalerm came to office http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thaksin_Shinawatra

Charlem has had a similar history to Thaksin..........

Chalerm graduated from the Royal Thai Police Academy. He reached the rank of police captain, before he resigned his commission to go into private business.....

Chalerm first entered politics as an MP with the Democrat Party. In 1986 he formed his own party, the Mass Party ........He served as Minister for Office of the Prime Minister under Chatichai Choonhavan, overseeing the Mass Communications Organization of Thailand. He was accused of press interference and had ongoing conflicts with the military, to the point that he was cited by the coup-makers as one of the reasons for the 1991 military coup d'état. In the wake of the coup Chalerm was among the politicians accused of "unusual wealth", and had 32 million baht in assets seized.[1] He fled Thailand to live in Sweden and Denmark until the political situation cooled down..........

After returning to Thailand, Chalerm allied his Mass Party with the Thai Nation Party..................In the 2007 general election Chalerm joined the People's Power Party and was again elected MP. On 6 February 2008 he joined the Samak Sundaravej cabinet as Minister of Interior,[2] serving until Samak's disqualification from politics. He served in the cabinet of the short-lived Somchai Wongsawat government as Minister of Public Health,[3] and for a time was chief MP for Pheu Thai Party. After Pheu Thai won the elections, Chalerm was appointed Deputy Prime Minister under Yingluck Shinawatra, on 9 August 2011.

It is certainly nice to have a superhero face to use, when a problem arises. Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yubamrung is just such a superhero. He is capable of anything. His prowess knows no bounds. If he entered the olympics, he would win a gold medal in every sport. If he went back into business (former massage parlor pimp) he would become super rich. His integrity is unimpeachable, and when he said 90 days ago that the mafias that plague tourism will be eradicated within 90 days, that is exactly what happened. There are now no more issues with the tuk tuk mafias, the taxi mafias, the jet ski mafias, the go-go bars ripping off tourists, the katoey stabbings, etc, etc. They are all solved. Thank you Khun Chalarm. Now that he is in politics, he is solving every problem, crime, and issue the country has. Thank Buddha for this great man. Imagine the problems Thailand would be facing without this savior on the scene?

In Scotland a pair this close would be known as Chalerm Fitzshinawatra and Thaksin Fitzyoobamrung

Yingluck is also pushing through the plan to dub television shows in the indigenous Yawi language, which will initially be aired for three hours daily on the Armyrun Channel 5 and staterun Channel 11.

It feels kind of strange to agree with PPD but yes, dubbing TV content can suggest that you are willing to support minorities ( in context that in Thailand as a whole Muslims are a minority) and that you do what needs to be done to make them part of the whole. I guess most people appreciate if somebody tries to make it easier to understand, or at least gives them a signal that they matter. This is what this point is about for me. And if this was Yinglucks idea then she just did something smart.

So are Dirty Harry and Judge Dredd.

Except Wyatt Earp was real.

And much of the legend based on fact.

Hard to say that about Chalerm he has so many faces and false stories,

no one can tell where he starts and ends.
