I am thinking of getting a Thai tourist visa in one of the Thai consulates/embassies in:

Kuala Lumpur, Laos, Macau or Hong Kong.

Has anyone had any experiences with them? If so, which one would you recommend?

Also, I've been to Penang last year (August) and had no problems in obtaining a tourist visa. Is it still the same recently? Has anyone been to Penang lately?

Cannot comment on the first 4 options but had a friend go down to Penang a week ago and all still ok on the Tourist visa front.

Well.. was recently at the Consulate in Savannakhet... the forms included tourist visas... so you should be ok there.. you will be able to get the visa the same day if you go before midday
