Ok I have a 3 year old dmax and an orange warning light appeared I know it's something to do with the yellow tap in engine bay and daring water from fuel filter or something

Anyway played around with tap and light went of 2 days later light back on played around with tap and light nOw off again

What I am after is the proper procedure for using this tap ie do ypu open tap before starting engine how long open it for ,do you close engine or tap first, just some general info on the right way to do it and what it actually does

Thanks in advance

Normally engine is off open the drain tap let all the fuel run out it will also let all the water out. Close the tap then on top you should see a plunger pump till a lot of resistance, fuel should now have filled the filter then you are good to start the engine.

No nothing on top to pump and nothing happens if you open tap with engine switched off have picture belowpost-105817-134397897516_thumb.jpg

Sorry don't know what the yellow tap is but as I said on my Mitsu and Toyota if you want to drain water from the fuel filter find the filter it's in the engine bay look for fuel line in and out, the filter is the size of a oil filter or some a bit bigger. There is a tap on the bottom normally plastic open it and pump plunger on top fuel will flow out. when finish close tap and pump again to pressure up then start engine. If someone has a Isuzu they might be able to attach a photo of the filter
